After spending several hours at the supermarket walking down the aisles and becoming an expert in reading food labels, I discovered that there were some gluten free baking mixes available but you needed to add dairy and/or eggs. Therefore, if you had multiple food allergies-like I did- those baking mixes would not work for you. I was so disappointed, Christmas was just a couple of weeks away and that meant that I would not be able to enjoy dessert during the holidays!
I shared my frustration with my doctor and she encouraged me to create my own desserts! I started experimenting but often wondered if I was pursuing something impossible. Was it possible to create a cake without eggs, butter and regular flour? Well, after a lot of hard work I figured it out! I was able to create a cake and a donut recipe without eggs, butter, and regular flour! My doctor was so impressed that she encouraged me to start my company. That’s how The Vegan Knife was born!
Initially, our vision was to provide allergy friendly baking mixes directly to consumers. However, we soon realized that restaurants, donut shops, and bakeries were buying our baking mixes as well. We were thrilled to see that the food industry was starting to cater to customers with food allergies. We immediately started serving B2B and offering commercial sized packages of some of our most popular products.
As we continue to grow, our mission is to deliver exceptional customer service while crafting innovative products that our customers will truly love. I am deeply grateful to God for blessing me with the opportunity to lead this company on its remarkable journey. It has been an incredible experience, and I am excited for the many opportunities that lie ahead!
