Today’s author with https://theveganknife.com/will discuss the transition that many traditional bakeries and donut shops are experiencing.
Have you considered crossing over from your mainstream bakery to an all-Inclusive Bakery that also caters to Vegan and Allergy Free Customers? As a mainstream bakery or donut shop you probably are used to dealing with flour, eggs, and dairy all day long. However, have you thought about crossing over and serving the vegan community and allergy friendly customers as well? As a store owner or manager, you may think that this task is daunting but it’s really not as hard as you may think.
A lot of our customers are bakeries and donut shops that had an interest in serving the vegan and allergy friendly community but were not sure where to start. You may be thinking that you don’t have time to develop vegan and allergy friendly recipes and then have to buy 10 different gluten free flours to experiment with. We hear you! We remember when we started experimenting with gluten free and vegan cupcakes and donuts, it was not easy deciphering the allergy friendly and vegan baking code! But we at The Vegan Knife have figured it out! That means that you can buy our cupcake/ cake and donut baking mixes and focus on growing your business! The best part is that The Vegan Knife’s donut baking mixes and cupcake and cake mixes are all gluten free, wheat free, dairy free, vegan, soy free, nut free, and sesame free. The Vegan Knife’s baking mixes are free from the top 9 Allergens!
When you are ready to add vegan and allergy friendly cupcakes and donuts to your menu we do have a couple of recommendations to set you up for success! It is always important to let your customers know via social media and in the store that these menu items will be available soon! Also, you need to have a separate area to prepare vegan and allergy friendly baked goods in order to reduce the risk for cross-contact. Training your staff on how to properly prepare these items and the necessary precautions to take to avoid cross-contact is crucial to your success and the safety of your customers.
Additionally, you should have a sign that is displayed advising your customers of all the allergens that are processed in your facility. That way the customer can make an informed decision as to whether they should consume the baked good that was prepared in your store. The best advice we can give you is to work with a Certified Food Manager when implementing all your policies and procedures for your bakery or donut shop. As you can see, by just implementing a couple of safeguards to your bakery or donut shop you can cross over and start serving the vegan and allergy friendly customers!
